The TPRI
is a valid and reliable assessment
tool that provides a comprehensive picture of a student’s reading/language
arts development. Designed to be used with students in Kindergarten, Grade 1,Grade 2,
and Grade 3 the TPRI offers a balanced and reliable approach to reading
instruction. A quick Screening
Section works with a more detailed Inventory Section to help teachers
identify strengths and problem areas as well as monitor progress. With the TPRI,
teachers can focus on helping students learn the reading concepts they
need, so that all students can meet the goal of reading on grade level.
The TPRI puts “Reading First”...
The TPRI covers ALL five of the domains of reading required to qualify for
the President’s Reading First Program (under the No Child Left Behind Act).
As an added advantage, the TPRI is the only assessment available with an
instructional solutions guide in the form of the Intervention Activities
Guide (included in each kit).
To receive federal funding, states must show that they have a high-quality,
effective reading program that includes rigorous assessments with proven
validity and reliability. As a research-based classroom assessment tool, the
TPRI helps states meet ALL of these critical funding requirements.
